Margaret is a Scottish writer for children. After studying medicine at the University of Glasgow, she worked as a doctor in the village of Doune, a filming location for Outlander and Game of Thrones, before moving with her family to Maine. Her debut picture book, OLD FRIENDS, illustrated by Lenny Wen, received a starred review from the Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books, was a 2023 Bank St. Book of the Year, a finalist in the Maine Literary Awards 2023, and is nominated for the 2024 Bill Martin Jr Picture Book Award. When she isn’t writing, she is most likely at the beach, playing tennis, or baking something gluten-free.
