Jassyel Gomez developed a love for reading and writing at an early age and always sought to immerse herself in the world of literature in one way or another. She holds a B.A. in English, is a former high school English teacher, and is currently a freelance writer who writes about pop culture and challenging cultural norms in the Latinx community. Her works of fiction are inspired by her daughter, community, and her experiences growing up in Eagle Pass, TX, a town on the US-Mexico border. Jassyel's writing has been featured in Texas Monthly and Parents Latina.
